The Greater West Melbourne Athletic Association (GWMAA) provides this online privacy policy to demonstrate our commitment to privacy by disclosing our information gathering and dissemination practices for the GWMAA web sites, gwmaa.org & gwmaa.com. This notice is provided in compliance with and in support of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998. This policy was last updated on December 16, 2023.

The GWMAA web sites do not gather personal information such as name, address, age, or e-mail address during ordinary browsing. Certain computer related information is collected while browsing the web sites. This information is the name of the domain of your computer, the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer, the web browser software you are using, the operating system type of your computer, the date and time of your access to the GWMAA web sites, and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked to the GWMAA sites. No personally identifiable information is collected with the computer information.This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the GWMAA sites and to help make the sites more useful. The data is analyzed in aggregate form only. 

For purposes of registration in a GWMAA sport, personal information is collected and used only for participation in the GWMAA sport. It is stored in an encrypted file. 

When contacting GWMAA by e-mail or by an online contact form, your e-mail address and other contact information provided in the body of your e-mail is used for the purposes of replying to your question or other request for information from GWMAA. Your e-mail address is not sold to any organization, company, or group. Your e-mail address is not shared with any other organization, company, or group without your prior permission, and then only as an individual case to address your question or request for information. (For example, it may be necessary to forward your question to another organization such as the Brevard County Parks & Recreation.) E-mail lists are not shared outside of GWMAA.

From time to time, GWMAA conducts online registration as a convenience to our members. Personal information such as name, address, telephone number, player's birthdate, and e-mail address are collected by the web sites at the time of registration. The information is stored in an encrypted file. This information is used for league purposes only, and is not shared with any other organization, company, or group. Your e-mail address and other registration information is not sold to any organization, company, or group.

West Melbourne Football & Cheerleading and West Melbourne Little League use SportsEngine, a division of NBCUniversal, for online registration. The privacy policy for NBCUniversal and its affiliates can be found on the NBCUniversal web site.

West Melbourne Basketball uses PayPal to collect registration fees. A copy of that company's privacy policy can be found on the PayPal web site.

The GWMAA web sites may contain news or photographs of association and league activities such as games and social events. These news stories or photographs may contain the names, ages, or jersey numbers of children participating in these activities. Any such item will be deleted or modified to remove identifying information upon request of any parent or guardian whose child appears in a news story or photograph. Requests for modification or deletion of these items should be directed to media@gwmaa.org.
